I am 45 years old with 13 years of face-to-face teaching experience covering English Standard, Advanced and Extension 1, Modern History, Extension History and Studies of Religion. With an average of twenty five students per class I have effectively done the H.S.C. over 300 times so I have seen and dealt with every possible issue a student could experience.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in English and History, a Diploma of Education and a Certificate in Gifted Education. I am an experienced HSC marker of both English Creative Writing and Modern History. I am accredited as a Proficient Teacher with NESA, I have a current working with Children check, and I am an Accredited Member of the Australian Tutoring Association.
Before seeing Chris I was lucky to be able to write a decent paragraph! He has not only given me the knowledge to succeed, but also the confidence to believe in my abilities - from analysing a text to writing a creative piece. There's no substitute for one-on-one time with an experienced teacher and HSC marker.
I'm letting you know that I am studying the BA/BEd (Secondary), as an English Major with Modern History as a 2nd Teaching Subject. I just want to say thank you for inspiring me to become a teacher especially to the point of making English such a great subject that I am now Majoring in it.
Chris is an approachable and friendly tutor with extensive knowledge of the HSC process. He addressed the difficulties I experienced with structuring an essay and helped me to understand how to write proficiently. With his assistance I was able to achieve a band 6 in Advanced English and a band 4* in Extension English.(*Bands 6 and 4 are the top bands for their respective courses).
